The Committee suggested a forum -style where there were 3 speakers in two rooms, thus participants would move only once. Hudson will review the possible combinations and work out the logistics. Vendors will be required to engage participants and provide interactive activities at their table, as well as provide handouts. They are to share at least one to three safety ideas. The vendors will not be selling products or services, but providing information that benefits seniors. Vendors will also be passing out safety items. Participants will also receive business cards or business card sized information that will have at least one useful fact to use in case of an emergency. Participants will also be given a mini flashlight and whistle. CM Baron expressed participants may become overwhelmed with information, and suggested organizing a check list of priorities. He felt they should walk away with one focus. CM Wood suggested simplifying the event by having other organizations do the jobs, lessening the burden. Additionally, CM Wood emphasized the need for CARD and Fire/Police Department to participate. Hudson stated that at this time no agency had yet committed to attending the event. Hudson reminded the Committee that this is a kick- off event that will provide an overview of information and there will be follow-up workshops throughout the year for participants to attend and receive more detailed information.
