HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-25-2000 SCAC MinutesCITY OF DUBLIN DUBLIN SENIOR CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES OF: January 25, 2000 The January 25, 2001, meeting of the Dublin Senior Center Advisory Committee was called to order at 10:05 a.m. at the Dublin Unified School District Board Chambers, Dublin, California, by Chairperson Gifford. Roll Call Committeemembers Present: Bielke, Gifford, Silvas, , Cain Staff Present: Dublin Senior Center Director, Anna Hudson Guest: Rich Guarienti Oral Communications - None Approval of Minutes - IT WAS MOVED BY BIELKE, AND SECONDED BY SILVAS TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF, NOVEMBER 16, 2000 AS CORRECTED (UNANIMOUS) Written Communications - None Unfinished Business Tour of the Neighboring Senior Centers Committee members discussed both desirable and undesirable aspects of the Oakland and Alameda Senior Centers that were toured in December. The Committee provided input on the preliminary Goals and Objectives for Parks and Community Services Commission to review. The Committee reviewed, ranked, and agreed the City Council Goals and Objectives as recommended by Staff. The committee agreed that the objectives of exploring the feasibility of purchasing the 15 passenger van for the Senior Center be accepted and rated as a high priority. The completion of the cost/benefit analysis on reuse of the Dublin Library for a Senior Center was also accepted as written and rated high. In addition, the Committee recommended that the city purchase two Macintosh (IMAC) computers to further accommodate the senior center community. The benefit was to serve MAC users in the training of various computer related areas. The cost of the purchasing one IMAC is estimated to be approximately $800. The committee rated this as a high priority. Committee member Burr Cain, and Paul Silvas stated that they would be able to attend the February 12 Parks and Community Services Commission meeting. New Business - None The Committee members introduced themselves and shared some personal information about themselves. Other Business The Committee suggested that the next meeting be held on Thursday, February 22 instead of February 15.
