CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS 2.1 Public Comment At this time, the public is permitted to address the Senior Center Advisory Committee on non-agendized items. Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record. COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. The Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may contact the Recording Secretary’s Office related to the proper procedure to place an item on a future Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the Committee MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3). 3. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for approval by the Senior Center Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the audience, Staff or the Senior Center Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from the Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item. 3.1 Approval of the August 5, 2021 Senior Center Advisory Committee Regular Meeting Minutes. The Committee will consider approval of the minutes of the August 5, 2021 Senior Center Advisory Committee Regular Meeting. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve the minutes of the August 5, 2021 Senior Center Advisory Committee Regular Meeting. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5. NEW BUSINESS 5.1 Senior Center Information Fair The Committee will receive a presentation about the Dublin Senior Center Information Fair. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive the presentation. Staff Report 6. OTHER BUSINESS Brief information only reports from Committee Members and/or Staff, including committee reports and reports by Committee Members related to meetings attended at City expense (AB1234). The meeting was called to order at 9:35 AM, by Committee Chair Christine Sevier. 1. New Business 5.1 Presentation on Programs and Services from the Dublin Senior Foundation The Committee received a presentation from Staff on the Dublin Senior Foundation and related programs and events conducted at the Dublin Senior Center. 6. Other Business The Senior Center Advisory Committee Members and Staff provided brief informational reports on meetings attended and upcoming events. Recreation Coordinator Henry Siu introduced himself as the new Staff liaison to the Dublin Senior Center Advisory Committee and informed the Committee of the happenings at the Dublin Senior Center. Parks and Community Services Commission liaison, Kristen Speck, informed the Committee of the design components and the community input process at Wallis Ranch Park. Alternate Committee member Christy Li informed the committee that Dublin Rotary is seeking to provide a book drive or service project for the Dublin Senior Center. Committee Chair Christine Sevier gave an update on the Alameda County Department of Health COVID protocols for visiting licensed care facilities. 7. Adjournment Being no further business, the meeting adjourned by Committee Chair Christine Sevier at 9:59 AM. DESCRIPTION:The 2021 Dublin Senior Center Information Fair will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Dublin Senior Center, in cooperation with senior service professionals,is hosting this comprehensive information fair to bring awareness to seniors, caregivers, and their families about local resources and services that are available to them. Organizations that offerresources related to social services, health and wellness, fitness and recreation, assisted living facilities, and the like will be in attendance.
