CITY OF DUBLIN February 28, 2018
The February 28, 2018 Regular Meeting of the Youth Advisory Committee was called to
order at 7:00 PM at the Dublin Senior Center by Chair Liu.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the Commission, Staff and those present.
ROLL CALL
Committee Members (CM) Present: Brakeman, Bray, Dhillon, Furtado, Goel, Huang, Kolan, Liu,
Matheny, Mitr, Nuruddin, Padakandla, Sharma, Yao Xiao
Committee Members Absent: Tran
Liaison Present: Butler, Parks and Community Services Commission Liaison
Staff Present: McPherson, Dublin Police Officer Blaylock

3.1 Public Comments – None.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
4.1 Minutes of the January 24, 2018 Regular Meeting
On a motion by CM Kolan, seconded by CM Matheny, with Committee Member Tran absent and
by a vote of 14-0-0, the Youth Advisory Committee took the following action:
ACTION
Approved minutes of the January 24, 2018 Regular Meeting as presented.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS – None.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS – None.
NEW BUSINESS
7.1 Election of Youth Advisory Committee Vacant Position
Recreation Manager, Lisa McPherson, presented the Staff Report. Committee Members
Matheny, Bray and Furtado provided a brief two-minute personal statement explaining to the
Committee why they should be elected.
ACTION
On a motion by CM Char Liu, seconded by CM Brakeman, and by a vote of 14-0-0, with
Committee Member Tran absent, the Youth Advisory Committee Members voted to elect
YAC Minutes – February 28, 2018 – Page 2 of 2
Alternate Youth Advisory Committee Member Matheny to a Regular Youth Advisory Committee
Member for the remaining 2017-2018 term.
7.2 Recruitment Process for the 2018-2019 Youth Advisory Committee and
Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission
Recreation Manager Lisa McPherson presented the Staff Report. Parks and Community Service
Commission Liaison Butler, encouraged current Committee Members to consider applying and
encourage other youth to apply.
ACTION
The Advisory Committee received the Report.
7.3 Spring Eggstravaganza
Recreation Manager, Lisa McPherson, presented the Staff Report. Parks and Community
Service Commission Liaison Butler, emphasized the importance for Committee Members to
volunteer and assist Staff at the event.
ACTION
The Advisory Committee received the Report.
OTHER BUSINESS
The Advisory Committee Members provided brief reports on meetings attended over the past
month and upcoming events.
ADJOURNMENT
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:44 PM.
