STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Select "St. Pat's Row" as the byname for the segment of St. Patrick Way in front of the future Avalon West Residential Project between Golden Gate Drive and Regional Street. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. DESCRIPTION: On May 1, 2018, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 41-18 approving a Community Benefit Program Agreement between the City of Dublin and Bayview Development Group for the Avalon West residential project (the agreement was subsequently assigned to Avalon West Dublin, L.P.). The project consists of a 499-unit residential development and other site improvements at 6700 Golden Gate Drive. The Community Benefit Program Agreement stipulated that, in addition to other requirements, the developer would make enhancements and streetscape improvements to St. Patrick Way so that the street can function as a usable space for special events and Downtown activation. An example of events could include Farmers' Markets, festivals, and Makers' markets, with utilization of food trucks and other mobile amenities. Pagel of 3 151 Figure 1. The byname could be affectionately referred to in invitations, social media posts, and directional references. This is similar to Village Parkway's byname as "The Village." At its February 15, 2023 Special Meeting, the Economic Development Committee was asked to select a byname from two presented options or make an alternate selection. The options presented, resulting from an internal poll, were "Paddy's Station" and "St. Pat's Row". The Committee considered the options and, by consensus, recommended that the City Council approve "St. Pat's Row" as the byname for the segment of St. Patrick Way to be used for special events. As part of the streetscape improvements, a sidewalk monument sign with the byname would be installed. Page 2 of 3 152 STRATEGIC PLAN INITIATIVE: None.
