It is proposed to fund this work from the Internal Service Fund. DESCRIPTION: Fire Station 16 was constructed in 1993 when the Dougherty Regional Fire Authority was still in existence, and was subsequently taken over by the City when the Fire Authority was dissolved. The building has had a history of rain leaks from various sources, some of which have been resolved by previous repair projects; however, there are still leaks in several areas. Some of these have been chronic for a number of years and some are new. The Zahn Group previously managed the Water Intrusion Investigation for the Civic Center building, which has ultimately been successful in resolving the ongoing leaks. Staff has obtained a proposal from the Zahn Group to investigate the sources of water intrusion at Fire Station 16 and recommend a course of action to eliminate the leaks. The building is also exhibiting some stress cracks in one area, and the proposed agreement includes investigation to determine whether any action is needed relative to the cracks. It is proposed to use the Fire Services Internal Service Fund to pay the cost of the investigation. Under the City's Purchasing Ordinance, the City Manager is authorized to sign agreements up to $20,000. Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Budget Change in the amount of $20,000 and adopt the resolution approving the agreement with the Zahn Group for water intrusion investigation at Fire Station 16.
