HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Reso05-30 Rec CC Streetscape Master Plan RESOLUTION NO. 05 - 30 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF THE STREETSCAPE MASTER PLAN WHEREAS, completion ofthe City's Streetscape Master Plan was identified as a high priority in the City Council Goals and Objectives for the Fiscal Years 2003/2004 and 2004/2005, and funds were appropriated to support this project; and WHEREAS, In May, 2004, the City Council approved a consultant contract to hire landscape architects Royston Hanamoto Alley and Abey (RHAA) to assist City Staff in this work program; and WHEREAS, the goals of the Streetscape Master Plan aim to accomplish the following: 1 Recognize and formalize the City's existing landscape and tree planting program; 2 Strengthen, clarify, and unify the City's streetscape furnishings palette; 3 Create attractive entries into the City; 4 Provide a mechanism for coordinating Capital Improvement Projects with streetscape improvements; 5 Clarify public and private responsibilities for improving aesthetics along Dublin's streets; and 6 Consider opportunities to strengthen the streetscape design of Dublin Boulevard and highlight it as the common feature that connects the entire City while emphasizing individual neighborhoods and districts. WHEREAS, a Streetscape Master Plan was developed by Staff and consultants which accomplishes the above objectives; and WHEREAS, a Staff Report was submitted recommending that the Planning Commission adopt a Resolution recommending City Council approval of the Streetscape Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this item on May 24,2005; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did hear and consider all said reports, recommendations and testimony hereinabove set forth and used their independent judgment to make a decision. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Planning Commission does hereby recommend City Council approval of the Streetscape Master Plan. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of May 2005.
