EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:The City Council will consider the Mayor’s recommendation to re-appoint Councilmember Shawn Kumagai as the City of Dublin representative to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Confirm the Mayor’s recommendation and adopt the Resolution Making an Appointment to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:None.
DESCRIPTION:The Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board (ACMAD) is a public agency serving the people of Alameda County. The Alameda County Board of Supervisors, and each of the elected councils of the 13 cities within the district, appoints one trustee to represent its constituency on the governing board of the ACMAD. The members of the Board of Trustees serve two-year terms.Councilmember Kumagai was appointed in February 2020 to serve a term ending January 2022. A recruitment was announced November 1, 2021 and applications were due to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2021. No applications were received.Mayor Hernandez requests that the City Council confirm the re-appointment of Councilmember Shawn Kumagai as the City of Dublin’s representative to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board for a term ending January 1, 2024.

RESOLUTION NO. XX - 21
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE
ALAMEDA COUNTY MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is authorized to appoint one member of the Board of
Trustees of the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District; and
WHEREAS, the current term of the Councilmember Shawn Kumagai expires on January
1, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the term of this appointment shall be through January 1, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dublin City Council hereby re-appoints
Councilmember Shawn Kumagai as Board of Trustee representing the City of Dublin on the
Mosquito Abatement District Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District.
