AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: August 13,1996 SUBJECT: Joint Meeting with City Council, Heritage Center Advisory Committee, Parks and Community Services Commission and Dublin Historical Preservation Association. Report by: Diane Lowart, Parks & Community Services Director EXIllBITS ATTACHED: None RECOMMENDATION: ~ 1) Establish meeting date and time; 2) provide input on potential '\: agenda items; and 3) identify additional agenda items as appropriate. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: At the adjourned regular meeting of the City Council on June 27, 1996, Mayor Houston indicated that he would like to see the City Council have a joint meeting with the Heritage Center Advisory Committee and Dublin Historical Preservation Association to discuss the direction of the Heritage Center. Staff would recommend that a joint meeting be held during the month of September and would also recommend that the Parks and Community Services Commission be included i:.::.in the meeting. as the Heritage Center Advisory Committee is an advisory body to both the Commission . and the COunCIl. Staff has reviewed the September calendar in attempt to identify a potential meeting date which will not conflict with other City Council commitments and has identified the following dates for consideration: Wednesday, September 18_QI Monday, September 30. If these dates are not acceptable, Staff would request that the City Council identify alternate dates for consideration. Staff has identified the following potential agenda items for the meeting: . Short and long-term goals for Heritage Center . Role of City and DHP A with regards to Heritage Center Operation . Museum Operations/Policies It is recommended that the City Council take the following action: 1) establish date and time for joint meeting; 2) provide input on potential agenda items; and 3) identify additional agenda items as appropriate.
