SUBJECT: Appointment of Ad Hoc Committee on Garbage
Franchise Negotiations

RECOMMENDATION: Appoint two members of the City Council as an Ad
. 1 ,,/,'HOC Committee to assist Staff in reviewing the
(,//1.., '\.- garbage franchise proposal and options.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
None
DESCRIPTION: In accordance wi th direction from the Ci ty
Council, the Staff has been working with the City's Consultant in
reviewing the proposal made by Waste Management for a new garbage
franchise for the City of Dublin.
Staff believes it would be helpful to have some Council input and
review of the proposal and garbage service options prior to
finalizing negotiations with the Waste Management Company. It is not
necessary for this Committee to be a standing committee because it is
anticipated that the Committee would only need to meet once or
possibly twice to assist the Staff in reviewing the information
provided by Waste Management and the City's garbage consultant.
It is recommended that the Mayor appoint two members of the Council
to assist the Staff with this project.
