SUBJECT: Mileage rate for use of private cars on City business
It is desirable that you establish a mileage rate for reimbursement
of private car use on City business.
The City of Pleasanton pays 21t per mile, the City of Livermore .20t
DSRSD 21t.
I suggest you set the rate at .21¢ per mile for both fixed and operating
costs. Where a car allowance for a fixed amount is established, I suggest
the additional amount for operating cost be set at 9t per mile. This
6 figure is based on a report, "Your Driving Costs", American Automobile
Association, 1981 edition.
