The Council's focus is on mitigating adverse impacts created by smoking restrictions placed on businesses. As proposed, the survey would be distributed through the Chamber of Commerce newsletter. A copy of the proposed form to be used is attached as Exhibit 1. The survey will attempt to measure the business communities' attitude regarding smoking regulations. (Le. is the current ordinance too restrictive or too lenient) The survey results will provide the City Council with data to assist in the decision making process on whether to modify the smoking ordinance. Council Member Moffatt has indicated that each city in the Tri-Valley Council will be assessing business attitudes toward smoking regulation. After the responses from the smoking regulation survey have been reviewed, Council Member Moffatt anticipates that the issue of smoking regulation will be brought to each City Council in late October. ~.~- COPIES TO: Nancy Feeley, Dublin Chamber of Commerce I.... : I,TY~-~}~~'n,l . .
