Authorize an additional appropriation from "contributions From others" to the FY 92-93 Senior center Machinery & Equipment Account FINANCIAL STATEMENT: See discussion below DESCRIPTION : The DUblin Senior Center recently participated in the Human Race sponsored by the Valley volunteer Center. Through the efforts of 39 dedicated senior volunteers, $3,154.00 in donations were received. Of this amount, the Dublin Senior Center receives $.75 for each dollar raised for a total of $2,365.50. The seniors would like to utilize the funds to purchase a new commercial freezer for the Dublin Senior center. The freezer that is currently utilized at the Center is the original freezer that was installed when the mUlti-purpose room was built by the former Murray School District. The freezer is no longer working and it has been determined that it is not cost effective to repair the freezer due to it's age and condition. Per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be formally accepted by the City council. Therefore it is the recommendation of Staff that the city council accept the gifts and direct staff to prepare a formal acknowledgment to the donors. In addition it is requested that the City Council authorize Staff to make the appropriate budget adjustments to recognize the unanticipated revenue and an appropriation for the expense. .... --------------------------------------------------~------------------- ITEM NO.
