AGENDA STATEMENT
City Council Meeting Date : February 10 , 1986
SUBJECT: Amador Valley Blvd. Landscaping
Schematics (Village Parkway to Dougherty
Road)
EXHIBITS ATTACHED: A strip map will be presented for review
at the City Council meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: , Review and give Staff direction on the
proposed landscape schematics .
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None at this time .
DESCRIPTION:
Plans are nearing completion for the street and street light
portion of the work . This review of the landscaping schematics
by the City Council will allow Staff to complete the landscaping
plans and design the irrigation system.
The present schedule is to complete plans and specifications
by February 18th for submittal to the State for their review.
Assuming a timely turnaround, Staff would hope to go to bid on
March 10th and open bids on April 2nd. Construction would then
run from mid-April into September .
The schematic landscape plan to be presented at this Council
meeting will be of a residential nature inasmuch as a large
portion of the project is fronted by homes with lawns or
landscaping in the front yards .
The ground cover is proposed to be turf banded by
interlocking paving stones. The median trees are to be clusters
of Liquid Ambers and small pines . These trees are of a smaller
scale than those being used on other major Dublin streets, as
Amador Valley Blvd. has only one traffic lane in each direction,
and the landscaped curb protrusions will tend to close in the
street .
A colored strip map and slides of the proposed plantings
will be presented at the meeting.
