RE: AMENDING FIREWORKS ORDINANCE

At the City Council meeting of March 29, 1982 , the Council
expressed its unanimous intention to amend the fireworks ordinance
to provide that fireworks not be sold to persons under the age of •
eighteen. I advised you that this could be done by amendment . On .
that date , I advised you that the ordinance amending the fireworks
ordinance could possibly be adopted as an urgent measure in view
of the fact that it obviously deals with public health and safety .
While this is undoubtedly true , the fact that the ordinance pro-
vides that sale will only occur between June 28 and July 5 , miti-
gates the urgency factor . Therefore , it is my recommendation
that the ordinance amending the fireworks ordinance be introduced
and adopted as a regular, rather than urgency , ordinance_
Thus , it should be introduced and read at the April 5 ,
1982 -meeting and adopted at the following meeting . •

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10
REGULATING THE SALE AND USE OF FIREWORKS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1 AMENDMENT
Section 10 (c) of Ordinance No. 10 is hereby
amended by deleting therefrom the following language : "minors
under the age of sixteen (16) " and substituting in place
thereof the following language : "to any person under the age
of eighteen (18) "
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Dubling on this day of , 1982 ,
by the following votes :
