DESCRIPTION: Woolworth Garden Center ( 7144 Regional Street) has requested red curbing adjacent to their driveway in order to improve sight distance for cars leaving their driveway. Red curbing is requested on both sides of the driveway. Staff concurs with this request for a sight distance problem on a slight curve in the street. This parking restriction will improve sight distance and facilitate right and left turns out of the driveway. In accordance with the City' s traffic ordinance, it is necessary for the City to adopt an ordinance in order to establish no parking in these areas . If the City Council adopts this ordinance a total of two on street parking spaces would be removed on Regional Street, one on either side of the driveway. ITEM NO. (p-6 COPIES TO: ORDINANCE NO. September 4, 1985 Mr. Lee Thompson 6500 Dublin Blvd., Suite 101 Dublin, CA 94568 Dear Mr. Thompson With the installation of a turn lane on Regional Street, those vehicles parking along the curb on either side of our driveway, create a dangerous situation for those leav- ing our parking lot. These vehicles obstruct the view and a driver must pull far out into the street before they can clearly see if there is on-coming traffic. Red curbing would eliminate this problem. We would be willing to donate twelve parking spaces in our lot, during the week, to replace those lost parking spaces. Sincerely yours WOOLWORTH GARDEN CENTER ) Robert Voshall Manager
