Adopt resolution establishing stop on Beverly Lane at
Kimball Avenue.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Approximately $500 to install sign and pavement legends
DESCRIPTION: Beverly Lane is a residential street which forms a "T"
intersection with Kimball Avenue. Kimball Avenue itself is within the City of San
Ramon and is commonly used as a shortcut between Alcosta Boulevard and Village
Parkway. This intersection is similar to other minor street/collector street
intersections in Dublin which typically have stop signs on the minor street.
California Vehicle Code (CVC) Section 21800(b)(1) requires that a driver entering a
"T" intersection from the "terminating" street shall yield the right of way to
vehicles on the continuing street. A stop sign would therefore provide
reinforcement for a condition that already exists. Staff feels that driver safety
would be improved if a stop sign is installed.
Staff recommends that the City Council conduct a public hearing, deliberate, and
adopt the resolution.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
~F THE CITY OF DUBLIN
APPROVING PLAGEMENT OF A STOP SIGN
ON BEVERLY LANE AT KIMBALL AVENUE
The City Council of the City of Dublin hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: Pursuant to City of Dublin Municipal Code Section 6.04.070, and in
the interest of public safety, a stop sign shall be erected for northbound traffic
on Beverly Lane at the intersection of Kimball Avenue.
Section 2:. Said stop sign location shall be added to Section 6.16.020 of the
City of Dublin Traffic Code.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 28th day of October, 1991.
