Receive Staff presentation and public testimony. Question Staff and the public. Close public hearing and deliberate. Adopt resolution. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Approximately $200 to remove limited parking signs and fill post holes with concrete. DESCRIPTION: This limited (two-hour) parking zone was established by the County in 1977. The files indicate that the limited parking zone was requested by the former operator of a daycare facility which is on the corner of Oxbow Lane and Starward Drive. The Traffic Safety Committee recently recommended that a small amount of red curb be installed on either side of the driveway of a medical office building at 7475 Starward Drive for visibility purposes. The building is owned by Mr. Anthony Verduzco and is presently leased to a dental laboratory. Because the dental lab staff is large and requ~cs a number of on-street parking spaces, Mr. Verduzco stated that he would ~j~e~ not to have any red curb installed unless the limited parking zone could be removed. Staff contacted Mrs. Eleanor Todd, present owner of the daycare center, who responded that she felt the limited parking zone was not necessary. Parents dropping off children usually park in front of the house on Oxbow Lane rather than on Starward Drive ..... The City's Municipal Code authorizes the City Manager to approve up to 15 feet of red curb on either side of a driveway; however, removal of the limited parking zone requires adoption of a resolution by the City Council. Staff recommends that the City Council conduct a public hearing, deliberate, and adopt the resolution for removal of the limited parking zone.
