FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Sufficient funds for No Parking signs were included in the Dublin
Boulevard Widening Capital Improvement Project
DESCRIPTION: The Dublin Boulevard Widening project (Donlon Way to 500 feet
east of Village Parkway) will widen Dublin Boulevard from four lanes to six lanes and add left- and right-
turn lanes at some intersections. Physical widening, through purchase of private property, was necessary in
some locations; however, most of the widening is being accomplished by utilizing the existing parking lanes
as travel lanes.
Portions of this area are already established No Parking zones. Parking is currently allowed in several
locations along Dublin Boulevard; however, these parking spaces are generally not utilized except near
Shamrock Ford and near the bus stops at Dublin Boulevard and Golden Gate Drive. The businesses along
this portion of Dublin Boulevard have sufficient on-site parking for both employees and customers. On-
street parking is also available on some of the side streets, such as Golden Gate Drive and Amador Plaza
Road (north of Dublin Boulevard).
Over the years, a number of No Parking Zones and a few Limited Parking Zones have been established in
the project area. In order to simplify the Traffic Code, it is proposed to delete all of the existing No

Parking entries for this portion of Dublin Boulevard and to adopt a single No Parking Zone for the entire
length of the project area. The Limited Parking Zones will also need to be deleted.
Notices regarding the upcoming widening project and this public hearing were mailed to business owners .
along this portion of Dublin Boulevard during the week of August 14th. Several business owners have
inquired as to the timing of the No Parking Zone installation. Posting of No Parking signs is a part of the
Dublin Boulevard Widening construction project. At this time, Staff is not able to estimate an actual sign
installation date; however, the date will fall within the project's 200 allotted working days. It should be
noted that parking may be restricted during the course of the project even if the permanent No Parking
signs have not yet been installed. The No Parking Zone will officially become effective upon adoption of
the resolution.
Staff recommends that the City Council conduct a public hearing, deliberate, and adopt the resolution
establishing a No Parking Zone on both sides of Dublin Boulevard from Donlon Way to 500 Feet East of
Village Parkway.

OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

ESTABLISHING A NO PARKING ZONE
ON BOTH SIDES OF DUBLIN BOULEVARD, FROM DONLON WAY
TO FIVE HUNDRED FEET EAST OF VILLAGE PARKWAY
The City Council of the City of Dublin hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: Pursuant to City of Dublin Municipal Code Section 6.04.250, and in the interest of
public safety, a No Parking Zone shall be established on the northerly and southerly sides of Dublin
Boulevard, from Donlon Way to a point 500 feet easterly of Village Parkway.
Section 2. Said No Parking Zone shall be added to Section 6.28.010 of the City of Dublin
Traffic Code.
. Section 3. The following duplicate sections shall be deleted from Section 6.28.010 of the City
of Dublin Traffic Code:
Dublin Boulevard
On the southeasterly corner of Dublin Boulevard and San Ramon Road along the curbline
from a point 57 feet from the curb of San Ramon Road extended to a driveway 160 feet
southerly of the point of beginning.
On the southwesterly curbline from a point 355 feet southwesterly from the southwesterly
curb line of Village Parkway, northeasterly to a point 150 feet northeasterly from the
northeasterly curb line of Village Parkway.
On the northerly curb line from the easterly curb line of San Ramon Road, easterly a distance of
125 feet.
On the southeasterly curb line from the northeasterly curb line of Donlon Way. northeasterly a
distance of 145 feet.
On the northerly curb line of Dublin Boulevard, from the easterly curb line of San Ramon Road
to the westerly curbline of Regional Street.

On the northerly curb line from the easterly curb line of Regional Street, easterly a distance of
260 feet.

On the northerly curb line from a point 750 feet easterly from the easterly curhline of Regional
Street, easterly to the westerly curbline of Amador Plaza Road.
On the southerly curhline from the easterly curb line of Golden Gate Drive, easterly to a point
450 feet easterly from the easterly curbline of Amador Plaza Road
On the northwesterly curb line from a point 275 feet southwesterly from the southwesterly
curb line of Village Parkway, northeasterly to a point 180 feet northeasterly from the
northeasterly curb line of Village Parkway; and on the southeasterly curb line from a point 355
feet southwesterly from the southwesterly curhline of Village Parkway, northeasterly to a point
150 feet northeasterly from the northeasterly curhline of Village Parkway.
On the southerly curhline from the easterly curhline of Village Parkway, easterly a distance of

On the northerly curb line from a point 275 feet northwesterly from the westerly curb line of
Village Parkway, southeasterly to a point 180 feet easterly from the easterly curbline of Village
Parkway; and on the southerly curb line from a point 355 feet northwesterly from the westerly
curhline of Village Parkway, southeasterly to a point 150 feet easterly from the easterly
curb line of Village Parkway.
On the northerly curhline from the westerly curb line of San Ramon Road, westerly to the
northeasterly curb line of Silver gate Drive; and on the southerly curhline from the westerly
curhline of San Ramon Road, westerly to its westerly end

Section 4. The following Limited Parking Zones shall be repealed and deleted from Section
6.32.050 (Two Hour Parking 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) of the City of Dublin Traffic Code.

On the southeasterly curhline from a point 230 feet northeasterly from the northeasterly
curhline of San Ramon Road, northeasterly to the southwesterly curb line of Regional Street.
On the southeasterly curb line from a point 200 feet southwesterly from the southwesterly
curb line of Regional Street, southwesterly a distance of 170 feet.
Section 5. The following Limited Parking Zone shall be repealed and deleted from Section
6.32.070 (No Parking, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m:, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays Excepted) of the City
of Dublin Traffic Code.
