FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None at this time
DESCRIPTION At its meeting of November 22 , 1983 , the Parks &
Recreation Commission discussed various goals and objectives which it might
undertake in the next 6 months . One goal which the Parks & Recreation
Commission believed worthy of consideration by the City Council and had been
presented to the City Council as part of the Parks & Recreation Advisory
Committee ' s report was the concept of a City-sponsored annual community
celex:ration.
The Parks & Fecreation Commission respectfully requests that the City
Council consider authorizing the Commission to contact all Cf the community
groups and organizations within the City to attend a Meeting for the purpose
of discussing and ascertaining the level of interest among the community
based organizations in participating in a Citywide event. .
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the Parks & Recreation
Commission to contact these groups and to schedule a meeting in which a
representative from each of these groups would be invited for the purpose of
discussing and possibly planning a Citywide event.
