RECOMMENDATION Determine appointment and adopt resolution.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION Mr. Fred C . Roberts of the Alameda County Mosquito
Abatement District has written to advise the City Council of the expiration
of the term for the Board of Trustee member appointed by the City.
Dr. Harvey Scudder is the current appointee and has served as the Trustee
representing the City of Dublin, since August of 1982 . His personal
background and professional expertise provide an asset to the organization.
Dr. Scudder is currently serving as Secretary for the Alameda County
Mosquito Abatement District and has indicated his , interest in being
reappointed as the City of Dublin representative on the Board of Trustees .
Staff has prepared a Resolution as requested by the District . It would be
appropriate for the City Council to identify their appointee and adopt the
Resolution.

Dear Mayor and Council Members:
The Board of Trustees of the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement
District instructed me at their meeting of October 30 , 1985 to
notify you that the term of office of Dr. Harvey Scudder expires
January 2 , 1986 . We respectfully request an appointment be made
prior to the expiration date for the two-year term of trustee of
this District representing the City of Dublin.
Dr. Scudder has served on our Board since August 2 , 1983 and is
presently serving as our secretary. His professional expertise
in the fields of entomology and public health are of great value
to the District.
We shall appreciate your sending us a certified copy of your
resolution appointing your trustee to our Board for the term
ending January 2 , 1988.

ative on the Board of Trustees of the Mosquito Abatement
District. I understand this would be for the period of
January 2, 1986 to January 2, 1987.

RESOLUTION NO. - 85
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE ALAMEDA COUNTY MOSQUITO ABATEMENT
DISTRICT
WHEREAS , The City Council of the City of Dublin is
authorized to appoint one member of the Board of Trustees of the
Alameda County. Mosquito Abatement District ; and
WHEREAS , the term for the current appointee expires on
January 1 , 1985 ; and
WHEREAS , the term of this appointment shall be from
January 2 , 1986 thru January 2 , 1988.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Dublin does hereby appoint , as
the Board of Directors Trustee representing the City of Dublin on
the Mosquito Abatement District .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall forward
a certified copy of this resolution to the Alameda County Mosquito
Abatement District .
PASSED , APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of November,
1985 .
