HomeMy WebLinkAbout5.1 Dublin Community Day CITY OF DUBLIN AGENDA STATEMENT CI`1'Y COUNCIL MEETING DATE: May 28, 1985 SUBJECT Written Communication from the Dublin Chamber of Commerce re Dublin Community Day at the Alarneda County Fair EXHIBITS ATTACHED Letter from Jim Daugherty , President of the Board of Directors dated May 14 , 1955 participation in the Dublin RECOMMENDATION �,K Authorize financial Community Day at the Fair FINANCIAL STATEMENT: $32 . 50 ; Sufficient funds are budgeted DESCRIPTION The City is in receipt of a letter from the President of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce requesting the City' s participation in Dublin' s Community Day at the Alameda County Fair by having the Mayor in the Winner' s Circle for Dublin' s designated race . The Chamber has requested that the City consider sharing the expense involved of approximately $65 . 00 Staff recommends that the Council consider this request , and if it desires to participate as in past years , authorize Staff to notify the Chamber of Commerce . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- COPIES TO : Chamber of Commerce ITEM NO . - old in heritage - new in ideas UO MN du in MAY 2 U -,985 Chamber ®f Commerce May 14, 1985 Cii C)P .W, fiC;3L?Al Dublin City Council 6500 Dublin Boulevard, Suite 101 Dublin, California 94568 Dear Council Members: The Alameda County Fair Association has designated Thursday, June 27, 1985 as "Dublin Community Day" at the Alameda County Fair. Each year the Dublin Chamber of Commerce organizes a Community Day Bar-b-que and "Day at the Races" . In the past one race is set aside as the "Dublin Race" , whereas a trophy and flowers are presented to the winner of that particular race by Dublin dignitaries. The cost of this event is approximately $65.00. The Dublin Chamber of Commerce hereby requests that the City of Dublin participate in Dublin' s Community Day at the Fair by having the Mayor in the Winner's Circle for Dublin's designated race. We would hope the Dublin City Council will consider the sharing of expense for this event which amounts to approximately $32.50.
