FINANCIAL STATEMENT: The amendment to the agreement will
result in a savings to the City of
approximately $6 . 00/hour.
DESCRIPTION: Under the current terms of the City' s
agreement with Taugher & Associates, zoning enforcement
services are provided to the City at a rate of $38.50/hour.
With the increase in construction activity in the City, more
time is required for building inspection services . In order
to maintain a suitable level of zoning enforcement, Taugher
and Associates has recommended that the agreement be
modified to provide for the services of a Zoning
Investigator on an as needed basis . Taugher and Associates
have recommended a rate of $32 .50/hour from May 13, 1985 to
July 31, 1985 , and $35 . 00/hour after August 1, 1985 . This
amendment will result in a cost savings to the City for
zoning enforcment services . No other rate changes are
proposed at this time .
:In addition, the amendment to the agreement also reflects
the incorporation of Taugher and Associates .
It is recommended that the City Council approve the
amendment to the agreement and authorize the Mayor to
execute the agreement .

Between City of Dublin and Taugher and Associates
For Building Law Enforcement Services
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin (hereinafter referred to as
"City" ) , and Taugher and Associates (hereinafter referred to as
"Building Official" ) , first entered into an Agreement on August
1, 1983 to provide Building Law Enforcement Services to the City
of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, Taugher and Associates is now incorporated as
a California Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the fees established in Exhibit "A" of the
original agreement were to be annually reviewed and adjusted as
mutually agreed upon by the Building Official and the City; and
WHEREAS, an adjustment of fees for services rendered is
desired by the City and Building Official .
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agrees as follows :
Section 1 : The agreement first entered into on August
1, 1983 to provide Building Law Enforcement to the City of Dublin
is amended to substitute "Taugher and Associates, Inc . , a
California Corporation" for "Taugher and Associates an
individual" .
Section 2 : Taugher and Associates Inc . hourly rate
schedule (Exhibit "A" ) shall replace the previously denoted as
Exhibit "A" in the Agreement adopted on August 1, 1983 and
amended effective August 1, 1984 .
The Change in rates shall be effective May 13, 1985 and
shall continue in effect until rescinded or amended by the City
Council, according to the provisions of the agreement.

Except as noted for the Zoning Investigator, this rate will be
effective for the period beginning on August 1, 1984 and ending
on July 31, 1985 . The rates will be adjusted thereafter
annually, as mutually agreed upon by the Building Official and
the City.
In the event that the Building Official is requested to perform
services in excess of forty (40 ) hours in any one (1) week, or in
the event that there is an emergency requiring the services of
the Building Official and the City is reimbursed for said
services, the Building Offical shall be compensated at 1 1/2
times the above hourly rate . Standard rates will apply for
Building Official ' s attendance at Planning Commission and City
Council Meetings .
* Supervision duties include review and coordination of work
performed by inspectors and clerical support staff .
Administrative duties include City Council and Commission meeting
attendance when requested, meeting with applicants and
developers , interagency coordination and coordination with Staff,
development of office procedures, operations, etc .
