FINANCIAL STATEMENT'
Approximately $100 to paint red curb and stripe
separate right turn lane. Sufficient funds are
budgeted in the Street Maintenance Operating Budget.
DESCRIPTION: Staff received a request to stripe a separate right
turn lane on eastbound Dublin Boulevard at Civic Plaza so that drivers wishing
to turn right on red would not be blocked by vehicles proceeding straight
through. The curbside through lane is sufficiently wide to allow striping of
a separate right turn lane; however, parking would need to be prohibited for
approximately 150 feet west of the intersection.
A 150-foot no parking zone would remove approximately seven to eight on-street
parking spaces. Because of the proximity of the Civic Center and Sports
Grounds parking lots, on-street parking is rarely used at this location.
Staff feels that the benefit of the right turn lane outweighs the removal of
parking spaces.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution establishing a
150-foot no parking zone on the south side of Dublin Boulevard west of Civic
Plaza.

The City Council of the City of Dublin does RESOLVE as follows:
Section 1.
In accordance with the provisions of City of Dublin Municipal Code
Section 6.04.250(A), a no parking zone shall be established on the southerly
curbline of Dublin Boulevard extending from the westerly curbline of Civic
Plaza, westerly a distance of 150 feet.
Section 2.
The provisions of Section 1 shall be added to Chapter 6 of the City of
Dublin Traffic Code.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Dublin
on this 28th day of January, 1991 by the following vote:
