SUBJECT: Request for Budget Transfer-Dublin Municipal Code

RECOMMENDATION: 1.) Authorize budget transfer in the amount of

The 1989-90 Budget for this project was
preminarily based on a 285 page code. The
Dublin Municipal Code actually contains 485
pages. Additional charges were also incurred
to place the City Seal on the binders and to
obtain tab dividers customized to Dublin's
Code sections.
DESCRIPTION: In December, 1988, the City entered into an
agreement with Book Publishing Company to codify existing City
Ordinances into a Dublin Municipal Code.
The agreement originally established a cut-off date of April 1, 1989
for Ordinances to be included in the codification. Book Publishing
Company, however, was able to include all ordinances adopted thru
calendar year 1989. This resulted in a substantial increase in the
page count contained in the final product. As Book Publishing Company
neared the completion of the Code, City Staff was consulted regarding
customized features. City Staff authorized the placement of the City
Seal on the binders and also requested that tab dividers be provided
in order to make the Code easier to use. These changes increased the
total contract to $13,937.55.
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize a budget transfer in
the amount of $5,937. 55 from the Contingent Reserve in order to
complete the Dublin Municipal Code project.
