To complete this project, a budget appropriation is necessary in the amount of$11,994 from
Unallocated General Fund Reserves. This amount is substantially over.the funds budgeted;
however, Staff believes that rebidding the project will adversely affect operations of the Old
Murray Schoolhouse in the Dublin Heritage Center and the City will not receive lower bids.
DESCRIPTION: At the City Council meeting of October 20, 1998, City Council
authorized Staffto solicit bids for Contract 98-14, Heritage Center HVAC System. This project will
provide for the replacement of the existing inadequate HVAC system at the Murray Schoolhouse located
at the Heritage Center on Donlon Way. The two existing units are obsolete, require continual repairs, and
do not provide enough heat to utilize the Murray Schoolhouse in the winter.

The work in this contract includes the demolition of existing concrete pads and construction of new pads,
removal of two existing HVAC units and installation ora 3-ton capacity unit and a 5-ton unit, removal of
the existing duct system and installation of a new duct system, modification offiae building to accept new
ducting, plumbing of gas lines, and installation of electrical connections, computerized thermostat and a
condensate drain.
Breeze Air Systems submitted the only bid for this project, in the amount of $17,988.
Staff has reviewed the proposal, checked with references and recommends that the City Council adopt the
resolution awarding Contract 9844 to Breeze Air Systems and approve a Budget Change in the amount of
$11,994 to complete the work for the Heritage Center HVAC System.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING CONTRACT 98-14
HERITAGE CENTER HVAC SYSTEM
TO BREEZE AIR SYSTEMS
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on January 26, 1999, publicly open, examine,
and declare one sealed bid for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and
Modifications for Contract 98-14, Heritage Center HVAC System, authorized by the City Council on
October 20, 1998, which Plans, Specifications, arid Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a
description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bid was submitted to the City Engineer, who has recommended that the
bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin
does hereby award City of Dublin Contract 98-14 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit Breeze
Air Systems with a bid of Seventeen Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-Eight Dollars and No Cents
($17,988.00), the particulars of which bid are on file in the Office of the City Engineer.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of February, 1999.
