This entire project is to be funded by Gas Tax monies.
DESCRIPTION: This project will install street lights on Golden Gate Drive
and the Village Parkway/Clark Avenue loop south of Dublin Blvd. These lights have
been requested by businesses in previous years and will improve safety for both
pedestrians and motorists at night.
Overhead utilities were undergrounded on many of Dublin's downtown streets prior to
incorporation; however, street lights were not installed during that process.
Several years ago as a first phase, Dublin began installing the missing lights with
a project to light Regional Street and Amador Plaza. Street lights were also added
to Dublin Blvd. at the same time that City undergrounding projects took place.
Other lights have been added with traffic signal projects.
A future project is proposed to add lights on Sierra Court/Sierra Lane and on Amador
Valley Blvd. just east of Village Parkway.
At its meeting of February 22, 1993, the City Council authorized Staff to advertise
for bids for Contract No. 93-01, Downtown Street Light Additions. The City received
a total of eleven (11) bids for the project (see attached bid summary). The low
bidder was Steiny & Company with a bid of $52,759.00. Steiny & Co. has successfully
completed projects for Dublin in the past.
Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and recommends that the City Council
award the bid to the low bidder, Steiny & Company.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING CONTRACT 93-01,
DOWNTOWN STREET LIGHT ADDITIONS
TO STEINY & COMPANY
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did on March 17, 1993, publicly open examine, and
declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans,
specifications, and Modifications for Contract 93-01 Downtown Street Light
Additions, authorized by the City Council on February 22, 1993, which Plans,
specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description
of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request
for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has reviewed the
bids to determine the lowest bid which was responsive to the requirements of the bid
documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin
does hereby award Contract 93-01 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit,
steiny & Company, at a bid of Fifty-Two Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty-Nine Dollars
($52,759.00), the particulars of which bid are on file in the office of the City
Engineer.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of March, 1993.
