DESCRIPTION

Over the last several months, the City has received several gifts as
Senior Center
A donation in the amount of$100.00 was received from Setsuko Inami "in appreciation for the wonderful things
that Center Staff are doing at the Center in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere". This donation will be
retained in a liability account until such time that there is an identified project or need to expend the funds. The
appropriate budget change form will be brought before the City Council when this occurs.
Shannon Center Preschool
. The parents of those children enrolled in the City's Preschool Program conducted a fundraiser at Papa Murphy's
Pizza. Coupons redeemable for pizzas were sold and the preschool received 25% of the proceeds. Coupons
totaling $357.00 were sold with net proceeds of $89.25 going to the Preschool. In addition, several donations
were received from the following families: Newbegin Family ($10.00); Rebitz Family ($22.00) and Winter
Family ($10.00). The total of these funds, $131.25, will be used to have a music teacher conduct a music unit as
part of the preschool program.
St. Patrick's Day Celebration
Miller Brands of the East Bay has offered to donate $600.00 to support an additional tent and stage for the
City's St. Patrick's Day Celebration. The additional stage will allow more community groups the opportunity to
perform and the tent will provide a covered area for eating and relaxing (also shelter in case of rain).
Per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be formally accepted by
the City Council. Therefore it is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council accept the gifts and direct
Staff to prepare formal acknowledgments to the donors. In addition, it is requested that the City Council
approved the attached Budget Change Form to recognize the unanticipated revenue and appropriate the
expense.
