Status Report for Reactivating City Fountains

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: As approved in the 1995-96 Budget, Public Works Staff is in
the process of returning the City's fountains to operational status for 4 hours per day 5 days per
week. This report contains the results of Staffs efforts to date.
A meeting was held with Pacific Water Art, the City's fountain maintenance contractor. Allowing
time for ordering parts and repairs on existing equipment, it is estimated that the fountains could
be operational by August 18th.
The following are necessary steps being taken for reactivating the three fountains:
CIVIC CENTER (PLAZA)
. 60 hp motor will be re-wound
. Bearings replaced
. Seal and sleeve installed
. Change breakers and overloads/clean electrical panel
CIVIC CENTER (COURTYARD)
. Install new motor
SHANNON PARK ENTRY FOUNTAIN
. Motors will be brought to Pacific Water Art for evaluation and repairs.
