The Budgeted sm of the Remove and Replace sidewalk, curb and gutter work, together with the new
sidewalks in the Civic Center Parking Lot and in Stagecoach Park is $42,900. The low bid is $41,968 ~3.
This work has been budgeted in the General Fund. As the project is bid by hne item costs, Staff will
modify the actual quantities, if necessary, to keep the project within budget.
DESCRIPTION: On February 18, 1997, the City Council authorized Staffto solicit
bids for Contract 97-02, Annual Sidewalk Safety Repair project.
The Annual Sidewalk Safety Repair project repairs sidewalk locations that are offset 3/4" or more and
may pose a tripping hazard. This contract specifies removal of the existing sidewalk, and in the case of
root problems, removal of the tree roots, installation of a root barrier to mitigate future problems, and then
replacement of the concrete sidewalk. This year, a number of curb and gutter repairs are also included.

A total of 7 bids were received for this project. The low bidder was Sposeto Engineering, Inc. with a bid
of $41,968.10.
Staff has reviewed the bid results, checked with references, and recommends that the City Council adopt
the resolution awarding the bid to Sposeto Engineering, Inc.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING CONTRACT 97-02,
1997 ANNUAL SIDEWALK SAFETY REPAIR PROGRAM
AND HANDICAP RAMP CONSTRUCTION
TO SPOSETO ENGINEERING, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did on March 11, 1997, publicly open, examine, and declare all
sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for
Contract 97-02, 1997 Annual Sidewalk Safety Repair Program and Handicap Ramp Construction,
authorized by the City Council on February 18, 1997, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications
are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the
proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has reviewed the bids to
determine the lowest bid which was responsive to the requirements of the bid documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award Contract 97-02 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit, Sposeto Engineering, Inc.,
at a bid of Forty-One Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty-Eight Dollars and Ten Cents ($41,968.10), the
particulars of which bid are on file in the office of the City Engineer.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of March, 1997.
