FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Cost for LCD Projection System is included in FY 1998-99 Budget
DESCRIPTION: To help improve the quality of presentations made by City Staff, the
purchase of new audio visual equipment was identified by the Council as a high priority and funds were
budgeted in the 1998-99 FY budget to purchase new equipment. One piece of equipment needed to be
purchased by the City is a SVGA projector system. This projector system will allow Staff to incorporate Power
_oint presentation to the Council when appropriate. The projector is also portable, making it useful for police
uring school presentations.
Staff reviewed numerous SVGA projectors and felt the Epson ELP5300 LCD Projection System to be the best
for the City's specific needs. Sealed bids were requested from the following vendors:
1. A V Images
2. Minnesota Western
3. CompUSA
4. Westek Presentation Systems
5. Corporate Express
Two complete bids were received on time for the following amounts:
1. CompUSA
2. Westek
$6,489.92
$7,215.00
RECOMMENDATION Staffrecommends purchasing the Epson ELP5300 LCD Projection System from
CompUSA for the bid amount of $6,489.92.
