(CDBG) Budget Amendment FY 1992-
1993

appropriation in the amount of
$23,781 to the Arroyo Vista
Playground Equipment Project.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: These costs will be paid from CDBG
revenues
DESCRIPTION:
On February 25, 1991, the City Council authorized the
expenditure of Community Development Grant (CDBG) funds in
the amount of $23,781 to the Dublin Housing Authority for
installation of playground equipment in Arroyo Vista.
On June 8, 1992, the city Council authorized a budget
transfer of $23,781 for the Dublin Housing Authority because
the 1991-1992 budget did not contain revenue or expense
items for the Dublin Housing Authority. The situation arose
when the Alameda County Department of Housing and Community
Development (HCD) changed its policy which allowed direct
reimbursement of grantees by HCD to a policy allowing
reimbursement of grantees only by the city, which would then
be reimbursed by HCD.
The Dublin Housing Authority 'did not install the
playground equipment in Fiscal Year 1991-1992 because the
equipment no longer meets federal safety requirements. The
$23,781 will be used to purchase new equipment, its
installation and for landscaping.
In order to pay the Dublin Housing Authority it will be
necessary to amend the Fiscal Year 1992-1993 Budget in the
amount of $23,781. There will be no net cost to the city
since these costs will be reimbursed to the city from CDBG
funds.
