DESCRIPTION: At its meeting of March 14, 1994, the City Council
authorized Staff to advertise for bids for contract 94-03, Sidewalk safety
(Grinding) .
This contract is supplemental to the City's annual sidewalk remove and replace
program, which replaces offset sidewalk which may present a tripping hazard. The
grinding program will grind offsets which are not caused by tree roots or excessive
ground movement at substantially lower costs, thereby increasing the number of
locations which can be corrected.
The City received a total of seven (7) bids for this project. The low bidder was
Thomasson Engineering with a bid of Ten Thousand Eight Hundred and Four Dollars
($10,804.00). The Engineer's Estimate for the work was $14,600.
Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and checked with references and
recommends that the City Council award the bid to the low bidder.

RESOLUTION NO. -94
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING CONTRACT 94-03 SIDEWALK SAFETY (GRINDING)
TO THOMASSON ENGINEERING
WHEREAS, the city of Dublin did, on April 15, 1994, publicly open,
examine, and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved
Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for Contract 94-03 authorized by the City
Council on March 14, 1994, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby
expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars
relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has
recommended that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing
said work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Dublin does hereby award City of Dublin Contract 94-03 to the lowest responsible
bidder therefor, to wit Thomasson Engineering, at a bid of Ten Thousand Eight
Hundred and Four Dollars ($10,804.00) the particulars of which are on file in the
office of the City Engineer.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of April, 1994.
