FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Low Bid Received: $36,123.88
Engineer's Estimate: $39,046.25
Budget for Construction (Street Maintenance Budget): $40,000.00
This project is funded by Gas Tax monies.
Design and inspection for the slurry seal program is budgeted in the Engineering Operating Budget.
DESCRIPTION: At its meeting of March 26, 1996, the City Council authorized Staff
to advertise for bids for Contract 96-03, Annual Street Slurry Seal Program.
Slurry Seal is a preventive maintenance technique used to prolong the life ora street. It consists ora
sandYoil mixture which seals cracks and provides a new uniform wearing surface. The slurrying of City
streets is presently on a seven-year cycle.
Four bids were received, the lowest of which was $36,123.88 from Graham Contractors.
Staffhas reviewed the low bidder's proposal and is familiar with the low bidder's work. Staff therefore
recommends that the City Council award the bid to Graham Contractors.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING CONTRACT 96-03 ANNUAL STREET SLURRY SEAL PROGRAM
TO GRAHAM CONTRACTORS
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on April 16, 1996, publicly open, examine, and declare
all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for
Contract 96-03 ANNUAL STREET SLURRY SEAL PROGRAM authorized by the City Council on
March 26, 1996, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a
description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has recommended that the
bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award City of Dublin Contract 96-03 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit Graham
Contractors, at a bid of Thirty Six Thousand One Hundred Twenty Three Dollars and Eighty-Eight
Cents ($36,123.88), the particulars of which bid are on file in the Office of the City Engineer
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of April, 1996.
