RECOMMENDATION: Accept improvements under Contract 98-07; authorize payment to
qjv..p/ Biland Construction Co. for release of retention in the amount of
$3,572 after 35 days if there are no subcontractor claims.

All costs are paid for through a Transportation Development Authority Grant.
DESCRIPTION: On.August 18, 1998, the City Council awarded the Mape Memorial
Park Pedestrian Bridge Project to Biland Construction Co.
This project installed a pedestrian bridge across Martin Canyon Creek to provide access to Mape
Memorial Park from the bike/pedestrian path along San Ramon Road. Also included in the project was
the construction of the two bridge abutments and asphalt and concrete paths leading to either end of the
bridge.
At this time, Staff recommends that Council accept the contract with Biland Construction Co. as complete
and authorize payment of the final retention in the amount of$3,572 after 35 days subject to subcontractor
claims. •
