FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Approximately $25.00 to paint red curb
DESCRIPTION: Approximately a year ago, the City Council reviewed a request that
allowed 326 feet of parking along Amador Valley Boulevard east of Stagecoach Road in front of the
Heritage Commons condominium complex. Parking is prohibited on the remainder of Amador Valley
Boulevard, easterly toward Dougherty Road, because there are two eastbound travel lanes; however, the
area in fi.om of Heritage Commons consists only of one vehicle travel lane and a bicycle lane.
A logistics problem then ensued, as the City's Municipal Code prohibits parking in a bicycle lane, and the
existing striping placed the bicycle lane directly adjacent to the curb. Staffis preparing to restripe this
portion of the street similar to the residential portion of Amador Valley Boulevard, which._ has the bicycle
lane outside the parking lane.
In discussing this issue, the Traffic Safety Committee noted that drivers turning southbound to eastbound
fi.om Stagecoach Road sometimes tend to swing wide and might impact a car parked along the curb near
the intersection. It is therefore recommended that a 50-foot No Parking Zone be established as a buffer.
This will still allow 276 feet of parking, which is sufficient space for thirteen to fourteen cars.
Staff'has sent notices to the Heritage Commons Homeowners' Association and the residents whose units
are directly adjacent to Amador Valley Boulevard.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution.

OF TRE CITY OF DUBLIN
ESTABLISRING A NO PARKING ZONE ON THE SOUTHERLY SIDE OF
AMADOR VALLEY BOULEVARD
EASTERLY OF STAGECOACH DRIVE
The City Council of the City of Dublin hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1' Pursuant to City of Dublin Municipal Code Section 6.04.250, and in the interest of
public safety, a No Parking Zone shall be established on the southerly curbline of Amador Valley
Boulevard, from the easterly curbline of Stagecoach Drive, a distance of 50 feet.
Section 2. Said No Parking Zone shall be added to Section 6.28.010 of the City of Dublin Traffic
Code.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of May, 1996.
