Design and inspection for the slurry seal program is budgeted in the Engineering
Operating Budget.

DESCRIPTION: At its meeting of July 25, 1994, the City Council authorized
Staff to advertise for bids for Contract 94-06, Annual Street Slurry Seal Program.
Slurry Seal is a preventive maintenance technique used to prolong the life of a
street. It consists of a sand/oil mixture which seals cracks and provides a new
uniform wearing surface. The slurrying of City streets is presently on a seven-year
cycle.
Four (4) bids were received, the lowest of which was $39,146.20 from Valley Slurry
Seal Co.
Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and is familiar with the low bidder's
work and recommends that the City Council award the bid to Valley Slurry Seal Co.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING CONTRACT 94-06 ANNUAL STREET SLURRY SF2%L PRO~RAM
TO VALLEY SLURRY SEAL CO.
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on August 31, 1994, publicly open,
examine, and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved
Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for Contract 94-06 ANNUAL STREET SLURRY
SEAL pROGBAM authorized by the City Council on July 25, 1994, which Plans,
Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description
of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request
for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has
recommended that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing
said work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Dublin does hereby award City of Dublin Contract 94-06 to the lowest responsible
bidder therefor, to wit Valley Slurry seal Co., at a bid of Thirty-Nine Thousand One
Hundred Forty-Six Dollars and Twenty Cents ($39,146.20), the particulars of which
bid are on file in the Office of the City Engineer
