I'INANCIAL STATEMENT:
None
DESCRIPTION: The Dublin Housing Authority (DHA) was created by
the city to oversee the operation of the Arroyo vista housing project.
In accordance with state Law, the DHA Board is comprised of the city
Council and 2 tenant commissioners. In addition, if the project has
residents over the age of 62, state Law requires that one of the
tenant commissioners must also be over the age of 62.
In August of last year, Christopher Estes announced his resignation
from the Housing Authority, thereby creating one opening. Peggy
Taylor, who has been on the Board since May of 1987, has indicated a
willingness to serve another term. Ms. Taylor fulfills the legal
requirement that one of the Commissioners be over the age of 62.
The city Council Nominating Committee, comprised of Mayor Snyder and
Councilmember Moffatt interviewed interested applicant, Rodney Jordan
several weeks ago, but were unable to complete the process until a
determination related to the interest on the part of another applicant
could be ascertained. The other applicant has since withdrawn from
consideration.
As an informational point, the Nominating committee was recently
disbanded during discussion of the impacts of the new Brown Act
provisions which became effective April 1st.
A Resolution has been prepared by staff indicating the Nominating
Committee's recommendation. If the city Council concurs, it would be
appropriate to adopt the Resolution.

A RESOLUTION OF THB CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

APPOINTING TENANT COHHISSIONERS
TO THE DUBLIN HOUSING AUTHORITY
TO TERMS EXPIRING MAY 31, 1995
WHEREAS, the Dublin Housing Authority is a separate entity
created by the city council pursuant to state Law; and
WHEREAS, the operation of a Housing Authority requires two
tenant representatives on the Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Law requires that if the project has residents
over age 62 that at least one of the two required Tenant
commissioners be over age 62; and
WHEREAS, the city council must appoint Tenant Commissioners
to serve for a term which runs until May 31, 1995.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the city council of the
city of Dublin does hereby make the following appointments to the
Dublin Housing Authority Board of commissioners:
Mr. Rodney Jordan , Ms. peggy Taylor ·
* Ms. Taylor fulfills legal requirements to have a Tenant
commissioner over age 62.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the term of office for these
appointments shall be through May 31, 1995.
