RECOMMENDATION See Below FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Undetermined at this time. DESCRIPTION The City of Dublin has received a letter from Pon Noble, President of the Board of Directors of the Dublin San Ramon Services District, inviting the City to submit a proposal for undertaking the aquatics program at the District pool facilities. The estimated 1982-83 expenditures for both the Valley Community Swim Center and Cal High Pool aquatic programs total $64,735.00. Revenue anticipated from the aquatics program totals $43,788.00. The anticipated net cost to the District for 1983-83, for both pools, is approximately $20,947.00. The net cost to the District of operating a program at the Valley Community Center in Dublin is estimated at approximately $14,000 - $15,000. If the City assumed respons- ibility for this program at the Dublin pool, the cost to the City may be higher, in that presently some aquatic program staff are shared between Cal High and the Valley Community Swim Center. PECON=,TDATION It is Staff's position that the assumption of the District's aquatics program should be discussed in light of other services which are provided by the District to the City. Staff would recommend that the City and District discuss this program at the joint meeting proposed earlier by the City Council, and notify the District of the City's position. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- COPIES TO : DSRSD ITEM NO . • ' F- 7)\ 7` = 2* GnG Du'D|in 7--o:|avard ~ Dub!in. ia 9,4588 " (415) 823'O15 July 20 , I983 R IE C E | V E [1 JUL*« y 'OQ] CITY OF City Council City Of Dublin P .
