Whereas, the Tri- Valley Unit of the American Cancer Society is proud to present the second Annual Relay for Life on June 26a anz
27a at Dublin High School, designed n'o.t only to raise money and awareness, but to remember lost struggles and celebrate wtth those
who are winning the battle against cancer; and
Whereas, the City of Dubhn ts a Relay for Life commumty and, as such, takes up the fight against cancer; and

Whereas, Relay for Life is an event which raises money to Support its.dedication to preventing cancer and saving lives from cancer , i;....~ :,: .... 2'-
through research, education, advocacy and patient services; and: ' ' 'ii ' ' '
Whereas, the Rday for Life Luminary Ceremony is a tribute made in honor or memory of those whose lives have been touched by
cancer; and
· ~ Whereas, the American Cancer Society dedicates this year's Relay for Life to all cancer survivors in our community. "
:!:·::.' :~ NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Dubhn City Councd hereby proclatms the weekend of June 26 -27, 1999 as
· ~ }. "Relay for Life Days" in the City of D~blin, and encourages all citizens to educate themselves about cancer, remember someone in
· ': their life who has been touched by this' disease and support such a worthy cause. ~
