Appointments by Mayor to Tri- Valley Community Television Board

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm the Mayor's new appointment of Valerie A. Barnes, and re-
appointment of Claudia McCormick, to the Tri-Valley Community
Television Board; or provide other appropriate direction to staff.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
. DESCRIPTION:
The Cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon make two appointments per City to the Tri-
Valley Community Television Board. In addition, the Board chooses three members-at-Iarge to serve on
the,; Board. The Community Television Board appointees serve a two-year term. According to the CTV
By-laws, there are no limits on the number of terms board members may serve.
The City has received correspondence from Tri-Valley Community Television (CTV), informing the City
that' board member Edy Coleman, who was appointed to represent the City of Dublin, has resigned
(Attachment A). Ms. Coleman's term is due to expire in February 1999. The Mayor has appointed
Valerie A. Barnes to fill this Board position.
In addition, The City has received correspondence from the CTV Board, informing the City that the term
for the second Dublin representative, Claudia McCormick, is also due to expire in February 1999
(Attachment B). The Mayor has re-appointed Ms. McCormick for an additional term.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Confirm the Mayor's new appointment of Valerie A. Barnes, and re-appointment of Claudia McCormick,
to the Tri-Valley Community Television Board; or provide other appropriate direction to staff.

Dear Kay:
The Tri-Valley Community Television Board of Directors wishes to inform the City of
Dublin that the terms of your two appointments to the Board will expire at the end of
February 1999. The appointments are for two years, ending February 2001.
Your current appointees are Edy Coleman and Claudia McCormick. Edy Coleman
recently submitted her resignation to the Board Chairperson. Claudia McCormick has
indicated that she is willing to continue serving on the Board.
