FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: The Dublin Housing Authority (DHA) was created by the City to oversee the operation of the Arroyo Vista housing project. In accordance with State Law, the DHA Board is comprised of the City Council and 2 tenant commissioners. In addition, if a project has residents over the age of 62, State Law requires that one of the tenant commissioners must also be over the age of 62. In August, existing tenant commissioners Rodney Jordan and Peggy Taylor were advised that their terms had expired and were invited to reapply if they were interested in continued service on DHA. Neither applied. Mayor Houston has recommended the appointment of Bonnie McCamon and Shirley O'Callaghan to terms expiring in May, 1999. Ms. O'Callaghan fulfills the legal requirement that one of the commissioners be over the age of 62. Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution making the appointments effective immediately. . RESOLUTION NO. - 97 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN ********* APPOINTING TENANT COMMISSIONERS TO THE DUBLIN HOUSING AUTHORITY TO TERMS EXPIRING MAY 31, 1999 WHEREAS, the Dublin Housing Authority is a separate entity created by the City Council pursuant to State Law; and WHEREAS, the operation of a Housing Authority requires that two tenant representatives be on the Board of Commissioners; and WHEREAS, the Law requires that if the project has residents over age 62 that at least one of the two required Tenant Commissioners be over age 62; and WHEREAS, the City Council must appoint Tenant Commissioners to serve for a term which runs until May 31, 1999. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby make the following appointments to the Dublin Housing Authority Board of Commissioners: Ms. Bonnie G. McCamon & Ms. Shirley Lee O'Callaghan * * Ms. 0 'Callaghan fulfills legal requirements to have a Tenant Commissioner over age 62.
