Confirm Mayor Houston's reappointment of Dave Burton as
the City of Dublin representative on the Alameda County
Housing Authority Housing Commis,sion to a 4-year term
beginning January 1, 1998 and ending' on December 31, 200l.
Direct City Clerk to submit City's appointment to Alameda
County Board of Supervisors for final approval.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
None
DESCRIPTION: The City recently received correspondence advising that the term of
Dave Burton, the City's appointment on the Alameda County Housing Authority Housing Commission,
will expire on December 31, 1997. An appointment for a 4-year term beginning on January 1, 1998 is
required.
In accordance with the Housing Commission's Bylaws, the City nominates a representative and submits the
name to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors for final approval and appointment.
Vice Mayor Burton has been the City's representative on this Board since 1991.
Mayor Houston recommends that Vice Mayor Burton be reappointed to this Board and requests that the
City Council confirm this appointment.

Dear Mayor Houston:
Your city's representative to the Housing Commission is Mr. Dave Burton and his term of office expires on December 31,
1997. An appointment for a four year term beginning January 01, 1998 and ending on December 31, 2001, is required.
In accordance with the Housing Commission's Bylaws, the City nominates a representative and submits its nomination to the
Alameda County Board of Supen'isors for fmal approval and appointment. There is no limitation regarding the number of
terms a Commissioner may serve, and you may renominate the same representative if you so choose.

For your information, Mr. Burton has been your city's representative since 1991. During this time, Mr. Burton has served on
numerous committees and was the 1996-97 Housing Commission Chairman.
Your city's reappointment and/or nomination of a new representative should be submitted to the following address:
