Staff is requesting feedback from the City Council as to a date within March 2010 that would work best with all Councilmember schedules. Overall, it is anticipated that the training will last approximately two hours and be conducted at the Dublin Civic Center. In Fiscal Year 2006-2007, the City Council held disaster preparedness training directly before a City Council Meeting. It appeared that this was an effective scheduling practice as it prevented the City Council from having to set aside an additional day for a meeting. If the City Council has interest in following this protocol, the training would begin at 5:00 p.m. and end before the start of the meeting. The March City Council meetings are scheduled for March 2 and March 16, but the Dublin Housing Authority meeting is scheduled to occur directly before the March 2 City Council meeting. Thus, Staff would recommend that the City Council set aside the March 16 date, beginning at 5:00 p.m., to hold disaster preparedness training. NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH: None.
