Soto, City Clerk EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Each year, the City of Dublin recognizes a citizen, young citizen and organization of the year at its Volunteer Recognition Event. As part of this process, an Ad Hoc Committee comprised of two Dublin Councilmembers is needed to perform duties including arranging for impartial judging and selection of winners. The City Council will consider appointment of two Councilmembers to the Ad Hoc Committee. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. RECOMMENDATION: Confirm the appointment of Councilmember Biddle and Councilmember Scholz to the Citizens/Organization of the Year Ad Hoc Committee. ~....-. DESCRIPTION: In February of each year, the City of Dublin recognizes a citizen and young citizen who have made a significant contribution toward enhancing the quality of life for residents of Dublin during the past year. At the same time, the City also recognizes anon-profit organization that has provided services which have substantially benefited residents of Dublin. The Citizens and Organization of the Year winners will be announced at the Volunteer Recognition Event. As part of the Citizens/Organization of the Year process, an Ad Hoc Committee comprised of two Councilmembers is needed to perform the following duties: • Arrange for impartial judging nominees and selection of winners. • Notify the City Clerk of the winners. • Coordinate arrangements with the Lion's Club and Parks & Community Services Department regarding the logistics for winners to participate in the 2009 St. Patrick's Day Parade and Celebration. Last year, Vice Mayor Hildenbrand and Councilmember Hart served on the Committee. Mayor Sbranti is recommending the appointment of Councilmember Biddle and Councilmember Scholz to serve on the Ad Hoc Committee from December 2009 -March 2010.
