The ramps are funded through a Community Development Block Grant Recovery (CDBG-R) grant and the General Fund (1001) as identified in the ADA Transition Plan Project (CIP No. 939101). FINANCIAL IMPACT: The adopted Fiscal year 2009-2010 total appropriations for this project were $19,650, including design and inspection. In July, the City Council amended program agreements for CDBG providing a new allocation of $36,760 from the CDBG-R Program. The appropriation of these funds is provided in a Budget Change and results in a total project cost of $56,410. Approve the Budget Change in the amount of $36,760 for the portion of the project funded by Community Development Block Grant Recovery Funds; and 2. Authorize Staff to advertise for bids for Contract No. 09-11, Fiscal Year 2009-2010 ADA Curb Ramp Installation Program. Submitted By Public Works Director Revie ed By Assistant City Manager Page 1 of 2 ITEM NO. ~ ~' DESCRIPTION: In response to the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the City of Dublin adopted a Title I Compliance Plan, a Title II Transition Plan, and a complaint procedure in 1996. Since adopting the ADA Transition Plan, the City has installed 26 curb ramps, and is making every effort to bring the City into compliance as quickly as possible. There are 1,452 ramp locations remaining for either full construction, or modification. This Project will implement recommended improvements listed in the City's ADA Transition Plan, which include the construction of approximately 18 new pedestrian curb ramps (Attachment 1). The curb ramps are funded through aCDBG-R grant and the General Fund (1001) as identified in the ADA Transition Plan (CIP No. 939101). A Budget Change in the amount of $36,760 (Attachment 2) is required for the appropriation of funds to be allocated from the CDBG-R Program. On October 20, 2009, Staff is seeking approval from the City Council to pursue bids for the project. It is appropriate for the City Council to adopt a Budget Change which will account for the additional CDBG allocation and the proposed project expenditure. City Manager: Signature Date: ~.
