"Staff Sergeant Sean Diamond"

WHEREAS, Sean Diamond first joined the Active Army in 1987 as an Infantryman and proudly wore the Expert
Infantry badge and transitioned to the Army Reserves and earned the rank of Sergeant; and
WHEREAS, he returned to active duty again after September 11, 2001 and accepted the grade of PV2. He trained as a
heavy equipment operator and eventually served three tours of duty in Iraq. He quickly rose through the ranks again
and demonstrated his mettle by earning the Combat Action badge and Bronze Star; and
WHEREAS, he experienced the most intense phases of the war with the 94`h Engineer Battalion in 2003 and reduced
the berms on the Kuwait border for the invasion of Iraq; and
WHEREAS, in 2005 Sean helped protect the force and Iraqi population during the growing insurgency in Mosul; and
WHEREAS, in his final tour in 2008, Sean helped build and make the positive changes that led to reduced violence
across Iraq.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Tim Sbranti, Mayor of Dublin, on behalf of the entire City Council,
do hereby recognize Staff Sergeant Sean Diamond as a Soldier who is the epitome of what our Army stands for;
hardworking, steadfast, selfless and rugged. = ~ ~,
