Carter, Human Resources Director 1. "Slice of Life" stories about Dublin Provide Staff with direction on the completion of the City Council's Goal of an Annual Video Newsletter or direct Staff to release a Request for Proposal for the production of a specific Video Newsletter and provide direction on areas of focus. The Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Budget authorized $10,000 for consulting services for video newsletter production. DESCRIPTION: The City Council's Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Goals and Objectives includes production of an annual video newsletter to be aired on Tri-Valley Community Television-30 (TV30) for the community (Goal I-D-2). Shortly after the Dublin City Council adopted their fiscal year goal, TV30 developed a program entitled "Slice of Life". The TV30 Board-approved format is a monthly magazine style video newsletter produced for all four Cities in the Tri-Valley. The list of stories completed from October -December 2008 have been included as Attachment 1.. The production format includes an end of the year summary of the aired monthly programs; in essence, an annual video newsletter for the Dublin community. Additionally, Dublin City Staff provides monthly input for programming of the "Slice of Life" production and will be providing direction for the year-end summary. Staff believes that the programming developed by TV30 for the "Slice of Life" can be collected and edited into an Annual Video Newsletter that can be put on the City's website for viewing. If the City Council wishes to produce a specific Video Newsletter, Staff would need to be directed to prepare a Request for Proposal to hire a video production company to complete the video. In addition, Staff would ask that the City Council provide direction on the areas/stories on which to focus in the Video Newsletter. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council provide Staff with direction on the completion of the City Council's Goal of an Annual Video Newsletter or direct Staff to release a Request for Proposal for the production of a specific Video Newsletter and provide direction on areas of focus.
