HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 022-87 Police CAL-IDRESOLUTION NO. 22- 87 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN DECLARING ITS INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE REGIONAL CAL-ID SYSTEM WHEREAS, in 1985 the State Legislature made it possible for local law enforcement agencies to participate in the implementation of computerized fingerprinting files; and WHEREAS, in 1985 the Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa appointed representatives to a Regional Remote Access Network (RAN) Board for the purpose of developing a joint Alameda-Contra Costa Regional RAN Network; and WHEREAS, the RAN Board has proposed a system which would allow the Dublin Police Department to participate in a computerized fingerprinting system, which would facilitate solving crimes; and WHEREAS, the Regional RAN Board has identified the costs to the City of Dublin for Fiscal Year 1987-88 as $17,190 and the annual operating costs as $5,588; and WHEREAS, the Dublin City Council recognizes the benefit to the Dublin community by participating in this program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dublin City Council does hereby declare its intent to participate in the CAL-ID Remote Access Network System and to participate financially as indicated in the letter from the Chairman of the RAN Board dated March 13, 1987. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of March, 1987. AYES: Councilmembers Hegarty, Moffatt, Snyder, Vonheeder and Mayor Jeffery NOES: None ABSENT: None City
