A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
ESTABLISHING RULES FOR THE SELECTION
OF MAYOR AND VICE MAYOR
WHEREAS, Section 36801 of the Califor'nia Government Code
provides for the selection.by the Council of one of its members as
mayor and one of its members as vice mayor; and
WHEREAS, the City has consolidated its general municipal
election with the statewide general election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Dublin hereby adopts the following rules:
1. ELECTION OF MAYOR AND VICE MAYOR.
(a)
Time. Immediately following certification of
the results of the general municipal election
in even numbered years, the Council shall
select one of its members as mayor and one of
its members as vice mayor.
(b)
Term. The mayor and vice mayor shall serve in
such capacities until their successors are
selected following the next general municipal
election.
(c)
Rules. The procedure for selection of mayor
and vice mayor shall be in accordance with the
current edition of "Roberts Rules of Order".
